60 seconds with Guenter Scholz from BASF Polyurethanes

Ahead of his presentation at this years' Thermoplastic Elastomers World Summit we spoke to Guenter Scholz from BASF Polyurethanes .

Smithers Apex: Your presentation will look at thermoplastic urethane in high impact applications, what is considered a high impact application?~

Guenter Scholz: High durability and softness are contrary properties in principle. Certain technical solutions in automotive and sport shoe applications with thermoplastic polyurethane are able to resist against that behaviour.

Smithers Apex: Why is it important to look at this topic and what can we hope to learn from discussing it?

Guenter Scholz: With that kind of examples the engineer can find easier technical solutions in construction of functional parts and probably realize better mechanical properties accompanied with less assembling cost.

Smithers Apex: What are you most looking forward to by attending the conference in November in Munich?

Guenter Scholz: I am highly interested in learning of further developments in Thermoplastic Elastomers concerning property profiles related to new morphology structures.
