  • Dr. Paul Andersen

    Director Process Technology Coperion Corporation

    Director of Process Technology, Coperion Corporation, 1987-2016 (retired). He was responsible for Process Engineering and New Technology Development for Twin Screw Extrusion/Compounding.

    He has 40 years of industrial experience. During this time he has worked extensively on compounding of multi phase engineering polymers, including nanocomposites and fiber reinforced materials. Additional areas of technical expertise are reactive compounding, and devolatilization. Paul holds several patents in both of these areas as well as patents on screw element design for improved mixing. More recently the focus of his work has been on processing bio-materials.

    Paul earned a BS in Theoretical & Applied Mechanics from Cornell University and Ph.D. in Materials Science from Northwestern.

    Paul is a past-president (2009-’10) of the Society of Plastics Engineers. He served on the Executive Committee from 2004 - 2011. Additionally, he has been an active member of the SPE Extrusion Division Board of Directors since 1990.

    Paul also serves on the Editorial Board of Advances in Polymer Technology, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Polymer Processing Institute.

    He has authored many technical papers for conferences, served as technical consultant for the SPE Twin-screw Extrusion educational video and wrote the chapter on Twin-screw Extrusion for the SPE Plastics Technician Toolbox.

    Additionally Paul has authored papers for several journals as well as several book chapters.  These include Mixing Practices in Co-rotating Twin-Screw Extruders in “Mixing and Compounding of Polymers” edited by Manas & Tadmor; The Werner & Pfleiderer Twin-Screw Co-Rotating Extruder System in "Plastics Compounding” edited by Todd, Twin-screw Extrusion in the 2006 edition of “Encyclopedia of Chemical Processing”, and Compounding Layered Silicate Nanocomposites  in “Polymer Nanocomposites Handbook” edited by Gupta, Kennel and Kim.

  • Michael Corcoran

    Environmental Manager, Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Team PPG

    Michael works PPG and has been with PPG for over 28 years in a variety of engineering, safety, and environmental roles. Michael has worked in PPG’s commodity chemicals and coatings business both at manufacturing plants and in a group role. Currently, Michael works in PPG’s corporate environmental manager with responsibility for our global environmental programs as well as the environmental component of PPG’s sustainability programs.  This involves managing our global data system for collecting and reporting our sustainability data.  

  • Robert Eller

    President Robert Eller Associates LLC

    Bob Eller is President of Robert Eller Associates LLC (REA).

    REA provides technical, market and economic analysis to support management decision-making, and strategy formulation in the plastics, TPE and rubber industries often at the advanced R-D/early commercialization interface. TPEs are one of REA’s consulting specialties.

    His company has operations in Akron, Ohio (USA), Asia Pacific and Europe. Bob and his associates have carried out numerous technology, strategy, pricing forecasts, product positioning analyses (usually at the advanced R/D-early commercialization interface) and acquisition support.

    His company is currently working on:

    -Assisting clients with identifying opportunities for product innovation and the innovation process

    -Positioning new TPEs and their fabrication technologies

    -Acquisition candidates in the global plastics and rubber markets

    -The evolving role of thermoplastic composites and fabrication technologies

    -Innovation opportunities in the packaging industries

    -Positioning of new polyolefin, TPE and compound technologies in automotive

    - Assessment of compounders in the Asia/Pacific region

    Bob is a graduate of Chemical Engineering and has an M.S. in Polymer Science and Chemical Engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic. 

    His employment experience includes ExxonMobil, A. D. Little, Phillip Townsend Associates, Charles River Associates (Vice President), Multibase (a French/U.S. TPE compounding company- General Manager) and Robert Eller Associates LLC which he established in 1991.

    Bob holds 4 patents in the plastics materials and process areas.

  • Patrick Ellis

    Associate Consultant Smithers Rapra

    Patrick Ellis qualified at the Borough polytechnic as a Plastics Technologist in 1959. He worked for Shell Chemicals first in the field of epoxy resins and later in the development of expanded polystyrene. He left Shell in 1963 to join Borg-Warner Chemicals, where he was responsible for the development of wide ABS sheet, particularly for small marine craft. In 1970 he joined GEP as Area Sales Manager and in 1972 he moved Monsanto to develop their position in the European automotive industry. In 1976 he joined Hercules Europe as Technical Manager responsible for injection and blow moulding PP business.

    When Hercules and Montedison formed Himont, he was appointed European Market Development Manager. Later Neste Chemicals bought the Himont Belgium operation, when was asked to become part of Neste Polypropylene as Business Development Manager. In 1991, he left Nest to set up his own consultancy business, where he has carried out numerous single and multi-clients’ studies on polyolefins processes and catalysts, compounding of polyolefins and thermoplastics elastomers, as well as a number of global elastomer studies. He has recently finished a global elastomer study for Smithers and as well as one on global thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) and another on the European market for fibre reinforced thermoplastics (FRT).

  • David M. Evatz

    Head of Plastics Industry Practice Investment Banking Group Stout Risius Ross Global Financial Advisory Services

    David M. Evatz is Head of the Plastics Industry Practice within the Investment Banking Group at Stout. Mr. Evatz has extensive mergers and acquisitions experience having executed numerous M&A and corporate finance transactions, including buy and sell side assignments, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, fairness opinions, and the private placement of senior debt, mezzanine debt, and equity securities. Within the plastics industry, Mr. Evatz has worked with companies serving the medical, packaging, industrial, and automotive markets and for companies with various manufacturing and plastic processing capabilities.

    Prior to joining Stout, Mr. Evatz was a Vice President in the mergers and acquisitions group at Salomon Smith Barney. In this role, he participated in a wide variety of merger, acquisition, and divestiture transactions across numerous industries, including chemicals, automotive, packaging, general industrials, consumer, retail, and healthcare. Preceding his experience at Salomon Smith Barney, Mr. Evatz spent time at Lehman Brothers and CIBC Wood Gundy.

  • Gabriel Geyne

    Application Engineer Sigma Soft

    Gabriel Geyne is an Application Engineer at SIGMASOFT Virtual Molding. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a Masters’ degree in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He was a trainer at the UMASS Lowell Fundamentals of Plastics Testing seminar. His Master’s thesis involved signal conditioning noise of injection molding machines for an in-cavity multivariate sensor capable of measuring temperature, pressure and velocity of the melt. Gabriel has 4 years of experience in simulations of thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, LSRs, and MIM using Sigmasoft Virtual Molding. He is a soccer fan of the Real Madrid Football Club, he enjoys traveling, and driving his Mustang. 

  • Jim Harper

    TPE Product Manager Hexpol TPE North America

    Jim Harper holds a Bachelor of Science in Technology from Kent State University and an Associates of Applied Sciences in Polymer Science from the University of Akron.  He has 21 years of experience in formulating and product development across a diverse range of materials including TPE, Thermoplastics and rubber.  Jim is the current TPE Product Manager for Hexpol TPE North America and is responsible for directing product and technology development in North America.

    Eric is a 1987 graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi’s Polymer Science Program and has since gained progressive experience in TPE compound formulating, product development, customer support, quality control, manufacturing, and problem solving for automotive (extrusion, injection molding, and rotational molding), wire & cable, general purpose profile, and rigid injection molding markets.  Most recent employment positions include Quality Management for CONDEA Vista Company, Jeffersontown Plant, Manager - Product Development for Advanced Polymer Alloys ALCRYN® Melt-processible Rubber product line and currently a Research and Development Engineer for A. Schulman Inc. covering their Soft Thermoplastic Elastomer Product Line.

  • Lynn E. Momrow-Zielinski

    President & Co Founder Extreme Molding

    Lynn is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.  She has a B.S. In Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Industrial and Management Engineering.  Lynn started her career as a Development Engineer at Mobil Chemical Company in the Plastics Packaging Division.  She then spent 8 years at GE Silicones in Production Management and Technical Global Marketing Management roles.  Lynn left GE to become a General Manager for Chemfab Corp which was acquired by Saint Gobain.  She was the World Wide General Manager of Lab Products at Saint Gobain before leaving in 2002 to start Extreme Molding.  Lynn and her business partner Joanne Moon Duncan are co-owners and active Managing Partners of Extreme Molding in Watervliet, NY.  Extreme Molding is a contract injection molder of both Thermoplastics and Silicones specializing in infant care, pet care and high end consumer products.  Lynn resides in Albany NY with her husband Mark, two orange cats Divot and Hobie and Schnoodle Winnie.  Lynn likes to golf, curl, hike, read, play the guitar and is a history buff in her spare time.  

  • Paul Moruzi

    Business Development Manager DSM engineering Plastics

    Paul Moruzi is a Business Development Manager with DSM Engineering Plastics. In this role he leads two teams, both of which are focused on copolyester elastomer applications. He brings over 30 years of experience in engineering plastics, with a particular emphasis over the last 20+ years on TPEs. He has worked across multiple markets and applications.


    Mr. Moruzi holds a MBA from York University, Toronto, ON and a Bachelor of Science, Engineering from Queen's University in Kingston, ON.

  • Brian Mulvany

    Senior Market Manager for Consumer, Electrical, and Global Key Accounts Teknor Apex | Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) Division

    Brian Mulvany is the Senior Market Manager for Consumer, Electrical, and Global Key Accounts for Teknor Apex Company’s Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) Division.  Brian has over twenty eight years of sales, marketing, and management experience in the plastics industry, in a broad range of end use markets and applications. For the last two decades, Brian has focused on TPE and TPV materials, and has in depth knowledge and experience with these materials, with a strong technical background in material selection and processing, as well as international business experience working with global OEMs, brand owners, and converters throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia.  With his keen understanding of TPE compounds and global market trends, Brian has been instrumental in setting the course for the Teknor Apex TPE Division and contributing to the sustained growth of the business.

  • Joe Qiu

    Joe Qiu is a Technical Manager of Arlanxeo High Performance Elastomer Business Unit. Joe has been working on Keltan EPDM for the last 18 years. He worked at Ferror Corporation before joining Keltan business. Joe has a Ph. D. in Polymer Chemistry from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor degree of Polymer Engineering from South China University of Technology. Joe spent most of his career developing industrial technologies utilizing EPDM polymers. He holds two patents and also gave various presentations  at international conferences.

  • Sarah Sitz

    Corporate Sector Research and Advanced Engineering – Plastics Engineering Robert Bosch GmbH

    Sarah Sitz studied chemistry and English at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. She spend time at the University of York, England, before she received her degree in 2009. As a scientific staff member at the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, she was responsible for the work group "rubber extrusion". In 2015, she obtained her doctoral degree in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University on physical foaming of silicone rubbers in an extrusion process.

    She joined corporate research at Robert Bosch GmbH in 2014. Besides research activities, her responsibilities include central material release for elastomers as well as consultation on elastomer materials and processing for all business units at Robert Bosch GmbH.

  • Dr. Liang Xu

    Technology Manager for Product Development PolyOne Corporation

    Liang Xu is currently employed by PolyOne Corporation. He is a technology manager for product development at PolyOne’s GLS thermoplastics elastomers division, located in McHenry, IL. Liang has done extensive works at PolyOne on the development of innovative TPE technologies since 2002. Liang graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Polymer Science from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, before that, he got his Master and Bachelor degree in Polymeric Materials from Shanghai JiaoTong University, Shanghai, P.R. China.

    Jennifer Zhu is an engineer at Ford Motor Company. She received her B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the California Institute of Technology. In addition to working at Ford, she is also getting her M.S. in chemical engineering at University of Michigan.
